You can easily cut onion rings yourself. Everyone has a different way of doing it. That’s why we’ve put together a quick and easy guide for you here on how it always works and the rings always stay the same.
Cutting onion rings made easy
First of all, the most important thing is that you use suitable onions and a good knife. The onions should all be relatively the same size, fresh and still “crunchy” and the knife nice and sharp. This is how you proceed now:
- First clean the onions if necessary.
- Remove the stalk from each onion with a knife.
- Peel the onions with a knife. Also remove the translucent skin underneath.
- You can now fix each of the onions in place with your hand or a pointed fork and cut down thin slices with the sharp knife. You can use the grooves of the fork and cut right here.
- Tip: A great tool for cutting onion rings is an onion holder. You stick it into the peeled onion and cut along the slits. This way, everything is even.
