Garmin Express won’t start: Here’s what to do

If you want to set up your Garmin device but Garmin Express doesn’t work, this can be very annoying. However, you can fix the problem by following these steps:

• Check that you are using the latest software version of Garmin Express. If not, download and install it.
• In addition, you may not be running the application as an administrator and therefore do not have permission. To change this, right-click the Garmin Express icon. Then select “Run as administrator” from the menu.
• If this does not work either, you should check if you have any pending Windows updates. Run these so that your computer is up to date.
• Finally, the error may lie in a corrupted configuration file. To delete this, press the Windows key and the R key. An input field will now open. Write “%localappdata%” in this field. Then search for the folder “Garmin_Ltd._or_its_subsid” in the directory. Select this with a right click and delete the file.
