Samsung: Moisture detected – this helps

by Pramith

If moisture is detected on your Samsung smartphone or tablet, you can no longer charge the device. We will show you how to solve the problem.

Moisture detected: Fix Samsung error

If the Samsung device has detected moisture, the following message appears: “Checking the port. Moisture detected. To charge your device, make sure your charger/USB port is dry.”

  • The reasons for the detected moisture can be many. In most cases, the phone actually came into contact with water.
  • But also high humidity, for example when showering, can cause moisture in the USB socket.
  • Rain or sweat should also be suspected. In many cases, however, the problem can be solved quickly.

Handset troubleshooting steps

First check for moisture on the cable and in the USB port.

  • Dry both places with a cloth and blow into them vigorously. Avoid leaking saliva when doing this.
  • If you can rule out contact with water or moisture, it may also be a software error.
  • Open the “Apps” category in the “Settings” app and select “USB settings” under “Show system apps”. In the “Memory” section, tap the “Erase Data” button.
  • If this does not help, start your Samsung smartphone in safe mode. Then restart the device in normal mode.
