Samsung Galaxy A50 wireless charging: This is how it works

by Johannes

With the newer smartphones, it is now standard that you can charge the device wirelessly. The Samsung Galaxy A50 does not yet offer this function – we show you how you can still get by without a charging cable.

Samsung Galaxy A50 wireless charging – retrofit makes it possible

You cannot charge the Samsung Galaxy A50 inductively (without a charging cable) as standard. This function is only offered by the newer models Samsung Galaxy S9, S10 or higher. Nevertheless, the smartphone supports fast charging because it has a USB-C port.

  • In order to still charge the smartphone wirelessly, you need an adapter. An example of a suitable adapter is the Nilkin Qi receiver.
  • Fix the adapter to the back of the phone and plug its USB-C cable into the port on the phone.
  • Even with the adapter, the phone still fits into a case – and can now be charged wirelessly.
