If you want to remove all data on your Samsung Galaxy S23, you need to perform a hard reset. We tell you how to reset your device to factory settings

Samsung Galaxy S23: Perform a hard reset

If you have access to your device, follow these steps to reset it to factory settings:

  • Swipe upwards on the home screen of your Samsung Galaxy S23 to display the app screen.
  • Tap on “Settings” and then on “General Management” and then on “Reset”.
  • There you then select “Reset to factory settings” and confirm your entry by tapping on “Reset” again.
  • Finally, enter your password or PIN when prompted. Now confirm the reset to factory settings with a final click on “Clear all”. The hard reset is now complete.

Hard Reset without password or PIN

If you forget your PIN or password, you can still reset your unit to factory settings:

  • Your machine must be switched off to do this.
  • Now press and hold the Volume Up button and the Power button simultaneously until your device vibrates. As soon as the Android recovery screen appears, release the buttons.
  • Now select “Erase data / Factory reset” on the recovery screen. Use the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons to navigate through the items. To select and confirm, use the Power button.
  • Then select the item “Reset to factory settings”. After a few minutes, the process should be complete.
  • Tap Restart to finish and set up your Samsung Galaxy again.
