It can happen that you are informed about a server error when downloading an app in the Google Play Store. There are a number of ways to fix this problem.
Remedy Google Play Store server error: Clear cache
It can happen that the Google Play Store issues a server error due to incorrectly stored intermediate information. In this case, it helps to clear the app’s cache and restart the app.
- Navigate to the settings of your smartphone.
- Open the application manager. You will find this for most manufacturers under the item “Apps”.
- Now all installed apps appear. Search for the Google Play Store here.
- Tap on “Memory” and on “Clear Cache”.
- Now restart the Google Play Store and try a new download. This should now run smoothly.
Server error Google Play Store: further solutions
If the above solution does not solve the problem, it may be that an update of the Google Play Store app has failed. In this case, it is recommended that you first delete the latest update from the smartphone.
- To do this, open the application manager as described above and navigate to the Google Play Store.
Tap on “Deactivate” and confirm the question as to whether the app should be replaced by the factory version with “OK”.
- To be able to use the store again, select “Activate” afterwards and try the download again.
- Setting up Google synchronisation again can also help. To do this, open the “Users & Accounts” item in the settings.
- Select the Google account that is linked to your phone and tap on “Remove account”.
- Use the “Add account” button to add your Google account.
- If this does not help either, a malfunction of Google’s servers may be to blame for the problem. You can check this, for example, on the page allestörungen.de.
