- The International Electrotechnical Commission has established this certification.
- The abbreviation IP stands for “International Protection”, which classifies the various water resistances of devices.
- With an IP68 protection rating, the Google Pixel smartphone can survive up to 30 minutes in 1.5 meters of water.
- However, the protection is only guaranteed under ideal conditions. Therefore, except for fresh water, all other liquids are excluded.
