Offers advertising “free Pokécoins” are rarely legitimate and should therefore be avoided.
Free Pokécoins: what the offers are based on
Pokécoins are the currency in Pokémon Go that you can use to buy special tools or skins. You can get them in the game or buy them in the store.
- Fraudsters are trying to obtain your data by offering Pokécoins in a mysterious way. If you have to enter your contact details at any point, they will most likely be passed on.
- In the worst case, links and apps contain malware that can damage your device. Even so, personal data can be lost and misused.
- Therefore, only download your apps from the official Apple or Android stores. Do not share any login details either.
- Do not respond to offers on social media either. This can harm not only you, but also your contact list.
This is how you earn Pokécoins
You don’t necessarily have to buy them to get the coveted coins. You can also earn them legally in the game. However, if you need larger sums, you will have to invest quite a bit of time.
- Defend arenas to earn coins. You will receive coins for each hour as soon as your Pokémon is knocked out of the arena.
- You can only earn a maximum of 50 PokéCoins per day, however. So if two Pokémon are thrown out of arenas, you will only receive a maximum of 50 coins.
- Occupy the arenas strategically. If you live in a big city and the arenas are regularly defeated, you should occupy as many arenas as possible. In more rural areas, your Pokémon can spend several days at a time in an arena.
