Android status bar: settings – how to customise it

by Corinna

The Android status bar can be customised via the settings. This is possible regardless of the model of your smartphone.

Android status bar: Open and use settings

If you want to set the status bar individually on your Android smartphone or tablet, proceed as follows:

  • On the home screen of your Android device, swipe down from the top of the screen. Your status bar will now open. You will recognise it by the tiles that offer various configuration options such as switching Bluetooth on or off.
  • Next, look for a pencil icon within the status bar menu. Tap on it to open the settings for the status bar.
  • The menu that opens is the System User Interface Tuner. You can now add tiles with icons of the respective function to the system bar or remove them.
  • The number of available functions differs depending on the model of the Android device. After customising the tiles, either exit the tuner or confirm the selection.
  • Now the customised status bar is displayed. You can use the quick menu to activate or exit the corresponding functions.
