You can access frequently used control panel commands directly in the Start menu. This can be done in no time at all using drag and drop.
For frequently used commands: drag control panel commands to the Start menu
If you keep entering the same control panel commands, it’s worth dragging them into the Start menu.
- To do that, open the Windows Start menu and then open Control Panel.
- Select either “Small icons” or “Large icons” under “Display”.
- Then click on the desired command, such as “Sound” or “Energy Options”, and then drag the icon with the left mouse button pressed into the start menu or onto the start button. A message will briefly appear saying “Pin to Start Menu”.
- Repeat this process for any other commands you need.
Open the Control Panel: There are several ways to do this
There are several ways to open the Control Panel.
- In addition to the method described above via “Start” and “Control Panel”, you can also type “Control Panel” directly into the search bar next to the Windows logo and click on the icon that appears.
- It’s even faster if you use a keyboard shortcut. Press +R, type in control and then press Enter.
