by Flo

Occasionally, Spotify has the problem that no sound can be heard. In this practical tip, we tell you how you can solve the problem on your smartphone and PC.

No sound on Spotify: What you can do

If you don’t hear sound on Spotify, do the following:

  • Check the media volume on your smartphone and make sure you are not connected to an output device such as a speaker that is in a completely different room.
  • If other things such as YouTube videos also cannot be played with sound, the fault is probably with your device. In that case, it may help to restart the smartphone.
  • Sometimes the error is also due to the song you are currently playing. To test this, you should play another song.
  • You should also check Spotify’s internal sound settings. To do this, tap the device icon at the bottom left during playback to make sure that the correct device and the sound is set high enough.
  • Restoring the Spotify app and logging out of the app can also fix the error. For the latter, open the settings via the gear icon and tap “Log out”.
