- Press the circle at the top left. Alternatively, you can also use the key combination “Windows key” + “Alt* + “R”.
Screencasts under Windows 10: With these tools it works
To create a screencast, you can also use one of many free tools.
- For example, use VLC Media Player or ActivePresenter to record your screen under Windows 10. You can find out how to create a screencast with ActivePresenter in the next section.
- Microsoft also offers its own software for screencasts, the Microsoft Expression Encoder.
- You can also film your screen with the CamStudio programme.
Screencast with ActivePresenter – how to film the screen
Install the ActivePresenter programme on your PC and start the software.
- Click on “New Capture”.
- Select “Record Movie/Streaming Video” at this point.
- Use the little pencil icon on the right to select the yellow light under “Cursor” to turn off your pointer.
- At this point you can also deactivate the pointer completely if you wish. To do this, remove the tick from “Show Mouse in Full Motion Recording Mode”. Save the changes via “Save”.
-
Then click on “OK” and then on the big red dot in the “Capture New Project” bar. The recording will now start.
- To stop the recording again, click on the small ActivePresenter icon in the menu bar and click on “Stop”.
- ActivePresenter now offers various functions at this point to professionally edit your screencast.
