If you want to connect your TV with Bluetooth speakers or Bluetooth headphones, there are several ways to do it. We will introduce you to two variants.
Pairing the TV with a Bluetooth speaker: The requirements
Newer TVs often have Bluetooth, older models do not support direct connection to an external speaker, so at least one of the following requirements should be met:
- In the best case, the TV has a jack connection for headphones.
- An optical Toslink or a digital SPDIF interface can also be used for a connection. However, the adapters for these are usually a little more expensive than those for the simpler jack connection.
Connecting a Bluetooth speaker to the TV
A direct connection between the TV and Bluetooth speaker is quite possible. However, older televisions usually do not offer this function.
- Some manufacturers, including Samsung, enable the connection between SmartTV and speaker via Bluetooth. However, both devices must be from the same manufacturer and support the “SoundShare” function.
- In most cases, you will therefore have to work with an adapter. The Bluetooth adapter is connected to the headphone socket of the TV. You can then establish a Bluetooth connection between the adapter and the speaker.
