Create a backup under Windows 10
Open the Start menu in Windows 10 and look for Control Panel.
- Under the category “System and Security” you will find the item “Backup and Restore (Windows 7)”.
- Select the option “Create system image” on the left and wait a moment.
- Now decide where you want to save the backup.
- In the next step, you can exclude individual parts of the system from the backup.
- Finally, click on the “Start backup” button and the backup will be created.
- Depending on the amount of data to be saved, the backup can take several minutes to hours.
Create backup with external software
The storage space for backups is limited under Windows 10. Somewhat older backups will therefore be deleted after some time
