Setting up your JTC TV: everything you need to know - Practical Tips

Setting up your JTC TV: everything you need to know

by Tobias

When you set up a JTC TV, there are a few things to keep in mind during setup. Channel settings are also one of these things.

Setting up your JTC TV: the initial setup

When you set up a new JTC TV, the initial setup is required first. The same applies if the device has been reset to factory settings and needs to be set up again. The first configuration is quick and easy:

  • When you turn it on, you will first see the “Welcome” screen.
  • Now set the language.
  • The next step is to set up the “net settings”. However, you do not necessarily have to connect the JTC TV to your internet connection just yet.
  • You can skip this step for now by pressing the right arrow button.
  • The initial setup is now complete and you can start watching TV.

Setting up a JTC TV: channel search and sorting

If you want to set up a JTC TV, for example, the channel search is one step in preparing the device for daily use. You can initiate the channel search in just a few steps:

  • Press the menu button to access the settings.
  • Select the reception type under “Antenna type” (e.g. DVB-C for cable, DVB-S for satellite or DVB-T2 for terrestrial). Please note that different options may be available depending on the reception type. Confirm by pressing “OK”.
  • Then go back one step using the menu button
  • Select your reception source again under “Auto-Tuning”.
  • You will then be asked “Activate LNC”, which allows you to automatically organize the channels.
  • If you want to turn on the automatic sorting, confirm with “OK”. If you would like to sort the channels later according to your own order, refuse the process with “Cancel”.
  • Then select “Complete Scan” and start it by pressing the “OK” button. The channel search will now be carried out and when it is complete, the channel list will be displayed on the right.
  • Then go back to the menu and navigate to “Edit Program”.
  • Select the channel you want to sort from the channel list using the right arrow key. The functions “Favorite”, “Delete”, “Skip” and “Move” are now available. Select the last option with “OK”.
  • You can now use the arrow keys to move the selected channel to the desired position and confirm the place with “OK”. Proceed in the same way with the other channels.

Possible Problems

Sometimes the TV setup may not work as planned. The following may help:

  • If you experience problems during setup or while sorting channels, it is recommended to update the TV software. This can help to fix bugs and improve the performance of the device. The update can be initiated in Settings ☻ Software Update
  • If external devices such as a receiver or console are connected, make sure that the TV is set to the correct input source (e.g. HDMI or AV). You can do this using the “Input” button on the remote control or in the menu under “Input source”.
  • If you are still having problems, it may be necessary to reset the TV to the factory settings. This is usually done via the menu under “Settings” ☻ “System” ☻ “Reset”. Please note that all stored data and settings will be deleted in the process.
