Minecraft: How to craft an anvil - Practical Tips

Minecraft: How to craft an anvil

by Mike

You can craft an anvil in Minecraft to combine, repair and rename items. You need a lot of iron to craft it.

Minecraft: How to craft an anvil

The anvil is used primarily to repair tools in Minecraft. Other uses include merging enchantments and changing item names.

  • Since anvils only spawn in smithing rooms in forest estates, it makes much more sense to make them yourself. You need 31 iron bars for this.

  • You can get iron ingots by combining nine iron nuggets or melting down pig iron or iron ore in the furnace. They can also be found in chests or obtained from killed iron golems, zombies or zombie villagers.

  • Of the 31 iron ingots, you will store four. From the remaining ingots, you will craft three iron blocks, for which you will need nine iron ingots each.

  • To do this, fill the crafting window of the workbench with nine iron bars to create an iron ingot. You then use these resources to craft the anvil.

  • To do this, place the three iron ingots in the top row of the crafting window. Place an iron ingot in the middle of the middle row, then fill the bottom row with the remaining three iron ingots. The anvil is now ready and you can place and use it in Minecraft.

  • Note: You can use an anvil about 25 times before it breaks. You need experience level each time you use it.
