Delete your Origin or EA account

If you no longer need your unused EA account, you can delete it. However, you should be aware of the consequences of this step.

Contact customer service to delete the EA account

You cannot delete your EA account on your own. Therefore, if you want to permanently terminate your membership, you will need to contact the company in person. The easiest way to reach customer service is via online chat:

• To do this, open the account deletion help page in your browser, click the “Chat now” button and explain your request to the support team.

• Please sign in to the Help Center with your EA account to positively identify yourself as the account holder. If you do not know your password, you can recover it.

• If this is not possible for you, you can also contact customer service without logging in. In this case, you may have to verify your identity by other means.

• Please note: Even if EA explicitly states that the account will be deleted, strictly speaking it will only be permanently deactivated.

• Therefore, you can actually restore the deleted account at a later date independently. To do this, you just need to reset the password for the account.

• If you really want to permanently delete your EA account, contact support via the data deletion help page. When you contact them, refer to your right to be forgotten.

• This will completely delete your account so that you will not be able to restore it even if you change your mind.

Delete EA account – these are the consequences

By deleting your account, you will lose access to all linked games, memberships, and other purchased content and services. But there are further consequences.

• You will also no longer be able to play games you purchased on Steam and the Epic Games Store if they are linked to your EA account.

• EA notes that you will not be able to use linked platform accounts with another EA account afterward.

• Deleting your account will not remove your banned status. So there is no point in deleting your account and creating a new one after you have been banned. Any other sanctions against you will also remain in place.

• If you have an active EA Play membership on your Xbox or PS4/PS5, this will not be automatically terminated. To do that, you will need to contact Microsoft or Sony.

• If you have gotten a new email address, you don’t have to create a new EA account right away. You can change the address in your EA account yourself.
