On Facebook, you can block people, applications and events, but you can also unblock them. This only takes a few steps.
Unblocking on Facebook: Here’s how
Not everyone should necessarily see what you post on Facebook – that’s why there is a function to block individual people. You can then no longer tag them in pictures without asking. But if you change your mind, it’s not a problem: you can simply unblock them.
- To do that, you first have to log in to your Facebook account.
- Then click on your profile picture in the top right corner to go to your account.
- Underneath that, next to the gear icon, you will find the “Settings and privacy” navigation point. Click on it to follow the “Settings” tab.
- Under “Settings” you will find the item “Block” under the most frequently searched for items. Among other things, you can block people, pages, messages and invitations under this item.
- If you want to block a person or remove the block, you can do so via “Edit”.
- There you will find your blocked list, which you can click on to see the blocked persons. Click on “Unblock” if you want to remove the block.
What happens after the block has been lifted?
If you have not only blocked the person on Facebook but also unfriended them, you will not automatically become Facebook friends again as soon as the block is lifted.
- In this case, you will need to send a new friend request.
- Incidentally, the person who was blocked or unblocked will not be notified by message or otherwise that they have been blocked or that you have unblocked them. They will only notice when they suddenly see your posts again – if at all.
- Incidentally, you cannot immediately reverse a block that has been lifted. If you wish to block the person again, you must wait 48 hours.
