It’s often useful to quickly find out your Facebook ID, especially when accessing external tools or plugins.
This is how you find out your Facebook ID
Your Facebook ID is a unique number assigned to each user of the social network. You can view it directly from your profile without any technical knowledge.
- To do this, open your browser and log in to Facebook.
- Click on your profile picture in the upper right corner to go to your personal page.
- In the address bar of your browser, you will see a URL that looks something like “https://www.facebook.com/username”. If the URL does not contain a username but a long string of numbers, this is already your Facebook ID.
- If you have a personalized URL, you can click on “Edit Profile”. At the bottom of the page, you will see your ID.
Facebook: Find your ID in the source code
If the direct method doesn’t work, the source code of your profile is a reliable way to find out your Facebook ID.
- Go to your Facebook profile and right-click on the page. Select “View Page Source” or press the keyboard shortcut “Ctrl + U”.
- Open the search function with “Ctrl + F” and enter “profile_id”.
- In the line that is highlighted, you will find a sequence of numbers that represents your personal Facebook ID.
