You should switch off data roaming on your Android smartphone when you are traveling in other EU countries. Otherwise this can lead to high costs
Disable data roaming on Android
Switching off data roaming is no longer necessary in the EU thanks to the Roaming Regulation. There are no extra costs when making calls and surfing the Internet. However, if you are traveling outside the EU, you should switch off roaming. Depending on the manufacturer and user interface, the names of the menu items and the menu navigation may differ slightly. The usual way looks like this:
- Go to the settings of your Android device
- Tap on “Connections” and on “Mobile networks”.
- Here you will find the item “Data roaming”. You can deactivate the option using the slider.
