Minecraft 2: Information on content and release

by Pramith

Minecraft 2 is eagerly awaited by many fans. But unfortunately there is currently no release date or content. There are already several titles

Minecraft 2: Announcement was a nasty April Fool’s joke

Minecraft is a game that has been incredibly successful. Many fans are wondering whether there will ever be a Minecraft 2. Confirmation of a sequel would certainly put the community in a celebratory mood. However, there have been no official (and serious) statements on this so far.

  • Minecraft is one of the most popular PC and console games ever, with more than 100 million players. A lack of success therefore does not stand in the way of Minecraft 2.
  • The responsible Mojang Studios have no objections to new titles for the time being, as the already released Minecraft Dungeons, Minecraft Legends and the rather unfortunate Minecraft Earth show.
  • In fact, Minecraft 2 was announced by the developers a few years ago. Unfortunately, this was one of the infamous April Fools’ pranks
  • In 2013, the Minecraft developer announced that a new game entitled Minecraft 2.0 was in development, which would take the gaming experience to a new level. This announcement was even accompanied by trailers and announcement videos from high-profile Youtubers such as Docm77 and Keralis.
  • Minecraft 2.0 was “only” announced as a major update, but it was supposed to contain funny new features such as overfeeding sheep or a pink wither. However, these new features will never be included as it was a nasty April Fool’s joke

Ways to optimize Minecraft 2

Even if Minecraft 2.0 was an April Fool’s joke, it cannot be completely ruled out that there will be a sequel to the original Minecraft. If there were ever to be a Minecraft 2, the developers would have to think carefully about what new content to offer fans.

  • Because: Minecraft receives a lot of new content with the annual updates anyway, which excites the community. Nevertheless, there are a few ways in which Minecraft could appear in a second new version
  • Updated user interface: Minecraft scores highly with its simple user interface. This could be optimized, for example by implementing more items and options in the menus. Other ideas have already emerged in popular Minecraft mods, such as the ability to see what is in a chest with a mouse movement
  • Smaller blocks: The standard Minecraft blocks are currently 16 by 16 pixels. Smaller blocks could be made available to the community here, for example in a size of 1 by 1 or 5 by 5 pixels. This would allow objects and buildings to be built in even greater detail.
  • More inventory: Although new blocks are regularly added to the creativity inventory, there is always room for improvement. For example, you can build an armchair from wooden boards and shields, but it would be much easier if furniture such as a chair or armchair were simply part of the Minecraft inventory.
  • Revised graphics: The developers could tweak the graphics – close to the original, but “souped up” with even more impressive graphics.
