In “Pokémon Go”, you can activate the camera to capture the Pokémon in the “real world”. This makes the game even more fun
How to activate the camera in “Pokémon Go ”
When you activate the camera in “Pokémon Go” for Android and iOS, you can see the wild Pokémon in your real environment. This makes the game even more fun. You can activate the camera not only when catching, but also when battling in the arenas, giving you a more realistic feel. We will show you step by step how to activate the camera:
- Wait until you find a suitable Pokémon that you can catch. Alternatively, visit an arena and start battling
- In catch or battle mode, you will see the Pokémon in a virtual environment. At the top right is a small slider labeled “AR”, which you can activate with a swipe.
- The camera opens and you can catch or fight the Pokémon in “real life”. If you no longer want to do this, simply switch the slider back. This is particularly useful when it is dark. Then you won’t be able to see much with the camera and will have a harder time catching or battling
What you should know about the AR function in “Pokémon Go ”
The so-called AR mode allows you to catch the Pokémon in “Pokémon Go” via the camera in your surroundings.
- In AR mode, the Pokémon cannot detect your movements and are not fixed to one point in your real world. This is different in AR+ mode. This allows you to make your gaming experience even more realistic, as the Pokémon are fixed and also perceive how you move.
- However, not every smartphone supports AR+ mode. You must have at least iOS 11. For Android, it must be at least version 7.0 and your phone must also have the option for ARCore.
- When searching for the Pokémon, you should always proceed slowly and keep an eye out for tall grass, as this is where Pokémon like to hide. It is a good idea to orientate yourself on the ground or on a table to find the Pokémon.
- Tip: If you want to cover distances a little more effortlessly in “Pokémon Go”, a cell phone swing could also be an option as a gadget.
