Google Pixel 9: Setting up the smartphone
Before you set up your Google Pixel 9, first charge the device according to the operating instructions supplied. You can insert your SIM card either before switching on for the first time or afterwards.
- Switch the device on using the on/off button and wait until the start screen appears. The device will ask you to select a language and then a Wi-Fi network and to agree to the terms of use and privacy policy.
- The device will then ask you if you want to transfer data from your old smartphone. To do this, select “Copy data” and follow the instructions that appear on the screen. Data transfer is possible via cable and wirelessly
- Once you have selected and confirmed which data you want to transfer, the transfer will start automatically. You can also skip the data transfer and carry it out at a later time.
- In the next step, you have the option of logging in with your Google account.
- Your Google Pixel 9 will then ask you to set up the screen lock. Once you have entered and confirmed a four-digit PIN of your choice, you can set up fingerprint and facial recognition for unlocking at this point.
- Now select your default browser and search engine. After the reference to the limited warranty, an introduction to Google AI and the security features of the device follows.
- Finally, you can set up Google Pay and select other setup options before the device gives you a brief introduction to using the Google Pixel 9.
