Star Wars Outlaws: Information about release and content

Star Wars Outlaws is an action adventure game with role-playing elements that takes you on a journey to four different planets from the Star Wars universe

Star Wars Outlaws – everything about the release of the game

As is now the norm, there are several editions with different additional content for the release of Star Wars Outlaws. The game is available on PC via Ubisoft Connect, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X. It can also be played directly on release with the Ubisoft+ subscription.

  • Officially, Star Wars Outlaws will be released on August 30, 2024, but you can play the game 3 days earlier if you choose the Gold or Ultimate Edition. The “Standard Edition” of the game will cost you €69.99 and with it you will receive the base game and – if you have pre-ordered – also the pre-order bonuses. These are a cosmetic package for the glider and a cosmetic item for the spaceship.
  • At certain retailers, such as Amazon, there is also the Limited Edition, which also costs €69.99 and includes the cosmetic “Rogue Underlander” pack as well as the base game. This gives you items for the two main characters Kay and Nix as well as for Kay’s glider and her spaceship.
  • The Gold Edition costs €109.99 and includes the game as well as 3-day early access, allowing you to immerse yourself in the world of Star Wars Outlaws from August 27, 2024. Also included is the Season Pass, which gives you access to future expansions of the game as soon as they are released
  • The Season Pass includes the two planned story expansions, “Wild Card” and “A Pirate’s Fortune”, with Wild Card scheduled for release in fall 2024. Owners of the Season Pass will receive access to a cosmetic character pack for Kay and Nix as well as the mission “Jabba’s Gambit” directly at the launch of the game
  • If you don’t want to miss out on anything, you have to go for the Ultimate Edition. This costs €129.99 and, in addition to the content of the other editions, also includes a digital artbook with concept art of the game and the two packs “Rogue Underwalker” and “Sabbac Slywolf”. The latter offers another set of cosmetic items for the two main characters, Kay’s blaster, the glider and the spaceship.

This is what awaits you in Star Wars Outlaws

Star Wars Outlaws tells the story of the villainess Kay and her alien friend and companion Nix. Unlike in Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, Kay has no Jedi abilities, let alone a lightsaber to fall back on.

  • In this action adventure, Kay has to carry out a raid in the Outer Rim and make a name for herself as a villainess. You’ll encounter familiar and unfamiliar characters from the Star Wars universe as well as a variety of locations on several planets to explore.
  • On your journey, you complete missions for various crime syndicates and rise or fall in their favor depending on how you do and what decisions you make along the way. Good relationships, for example, enable better contracts and more favorable prices if you buy from the syndicate. One of the best-known syndicates is the Hutt Cartel, which is led by Jabba the Hutt.
  • Each planet has open world areas in which you can move freely and explore either on foot or using your glider. Each of them has a different biome. For example, there is the jungle planet Akiva or the savannah-like moon Toshara. In total, there are five different planets or moons that you can travel to
  • In addition to planetary excursions on your glider, you also have access to Kay’s spaceship to travel around in space. There you will find space stations with NPCs and side quests as well as other events and locations. The ship is also equipped with weapons so that you can defend yourself in ship battles
  • In addition to the Syndicate reputation system, there is also an Empire “wanted” mechanic. If you become particularly conspicuous through various crimes on your travels through the Outer Rim, you will be wanted, pursued and attacked by the Empire, similar to GTA V, for example.
  • When it comes to combat, Kay defends herself with her blaster or deals out some serious damage in close combat. Her companion Nix supports her, for example, with distraction maneuvers or sabotaging the electronics to throw opponents off her scent. In addition to action-packed battles, you also have the option of sneaking to your destination. In this case, opponents can be knocked out silently without causing a commotion.
  • Kay’s equipment can be upgraded in the course of the game. The glider, spaceship and pistol all receive improvements and are enhanced with additional functions.
