Call of Duty: Black Ops 5 is actually called Black Ops 6 and will be released in October 2024. The Zombies mode returns with the game
Call of Duty Black Ops 5: Release planned as Black Ops 6
Call of Duty is a big franchise, which in turn can lead to confusion regarding the naming of the individual games.
- This is the case with Black Ops 5, which will be released by Activision as Black Ops 6 after Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War from 2020. The release is planned for October 25, 2024
- Theoretically, Cold War is the fifth installment in the Black Ops series. As the game has not been given a numerical title, it makes sense that the new installment should be called Black Ops 5. Due to the sequence, Activision has opted for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 instead
- The game will be released for Windows, PlayStation 5 and 4, as well as the Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One. It will be available in a Standard Edition for 79.99 euros and the Vault Edition for 109.99 euros, which has additional content. You can also play it via the Game Pass.
- From August 30, 2024 to September 4, 2024, the first beta test will take place for all players who have an active Game Pass subscription or have pre-ordered the game. The second beta weekend will follow from September 6, 2024 to September 9, 2024
Call of Duty Black Ops 5: Content of the sixth installment
The sixth installment of Call of Duty: Black Ops features three modes and the new Omni-motion, which is designed to give players more mobility on the battlefield.
- The campaign is the focus of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. It takes place during the Gulf War in the 90s and you take on the role of Frank Woods and his team, who have been labeled as traitors by the CIA. The story can be described as an espionage thriller
- In addition to the campaign, there is of course the multiplayer. This offers 16 maps for 2 vs. 2 and 6 vs. 6 matches. The new prestige system is designed to reward players favorably
- You can also look forward to the return of Zombies mode. Two maps are available at the start of the game, each offering a main mission. Together with your team, you must survive increasingly larger zombie hordes round after round to earn points and rewards
- One new feature is omni-movement, which allows you to sprint in any direction, sideways and backwards. It is also possible to turn seamlessly on the ground and perform spectacular slides and jumps. This should significantly improve freedom of movement and mobility.
- There will also be a theater mode. This will allow you to replay multiplayer matches from the perspective of each player.
