If you receive pictures via Facebook Messenger, you can save the photos directly to your smartphone

Facebook Messenger: Save pictures

Save pictures received via Facebook Messenger as follows:

  • Open Facebook Messenger and tap on the desired image
  • On iOS, tap the arrow icon at the bottom left. On Android, you will find three dots arranged one below the other.
  • Use the Save photo or Save image option to save the image in your gallery.

Use automatic saving

You can also set the Facebook Messenger app to automatically save incoming photos to the gallery.

  • Open the Facebook Messenger app and
  • Under Profile, select Photos and Media
  • Then select the option Save when recording.
