Settlements in Fallout 4 are connected via supply routes. These make it possible to transport resources and materials between settlements
Connect Fallout 4 settlements: Prerequisites
In order to create supply routes between your settlements, the following requirements must be met in Fallout 4:
- You need at least two settlements in the game to set up the route. It doesn’t matter where these are located. Just be aware that routes between two locations that are further apart can be more dangerous.
- Furthermore, the Local Leader extra is essential. For this, you need to invest six points in Charisma to reach level L 06 in the skill tree. Only then can you unlock the extra
- Finally, you need at least one settler in one of the two settlements. This NPC takes over the route.
Fallout 4: How to connect settlements
If you meet the requirements for supply routes in Fallout 4, all you have to do is connect them. You can do this as follows:
- Enter the workshop in one of your settlements. Select the desired settler there:
- Then press the [Q] key on the PC, [RB] on Xbox consoles or [R1] on PS consoles. The settlement overview opens
- Now select the settlement that you want to connect via a supply route. Confirm the selection.
- Now you just have to wait a little while until the connection route is established. The raw materials and building materials of the settlements are then synchronized and you no longer have to travel back and forth between them.
