Mud in Minecraft can be used in many ways as a building and decoration material. You can find the resource in mangrove swamps
Minecraft: Find or produce mud
Mud is generated as a natural resource in Minecraft.
- To do this, you need to find a mangrove swamp. These can be recognized from afar by the mangrove trees and the presence of frogs.
- Once you have found a mangrove swamp, dig in the ground either by hand or with a shovel. Most of the soil in the mangrove swamp consists of dark mud
- Alternatively, you can make mud yourself. All you need are glass bottles like those used for magic potions.
- Fill the glass bottle with water. Then pour the contents onto a block of soil, root soil or coarse soil. The block will then turn into mud, which you can then decompose
- This gives you a permanent supply of mud. The resource stacks as usual.
Use mud in Minecraft
Mud has many uses in Minecraft.
- If you place mud directly over a block with a pointed stalactite underneath, it will turn into clay after a while. You can then use this to make clay bricks or ceramics.
- If you combine mud with mangrove roots, you will get the Muddy mangrove roots block. You can use this for decorative purposes
- The resource can be used as a building material if you combine a block of mud with a unit of wheat. This gives you solid mud.
- You can then craft four pieces of solid mud into mud bricks. You can process mud bricks into mud brick steps (three bricks in the bottom row), mud brick stairs (seven bricks as stairs in the crafting window) and mud brick walls (three bricks in the middle row and three in the bottom row).
