“Ok Google, set up my device”: Activate voice input

To enable the setup of devices via Google commands, you must first activate voice input via the Google app. To avoid problems after activation, the latest Google version is required. This also applies to the Android operating system installed on your mobile device.

How to activate voice input on your iOS device

It is not only possible to use Google voice input on Android devices, but also on iOS devices.

• Download the Google app from the App Store and open it

• Tap on your profile picture or initial in the top right corner and select the settings.

• Select the Language menu item and activate the language search.

• Follow the instructions to activate the voice search and train your voice.

• After activation, you can use the Ok Google voice command to start the Google Assistant and add devices to your smart home.

If voice control is active, you can use the voice command “Ok Google, set up my device”. This works as follows:

• Switch to the Google app on your mobile device. To use the voice command, either say “Hey Google” or select the microphone icon:

• Now use the voice command “Ok Google, set up my device” to ask Google to set up a suitable device. The devices must be compatible with the Google Assistant for this

• The Google Assistant will now guide you through the setup. The duration of the setup process varies significantly depending on the device.

• Once the setup is complete, it is possible to use the device via the Google Assistant.
