If you want to get rid of a resident in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you either have to take your time or use amiibo
Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Ignore and get rid of dwellers
Dwellers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons usually move to you at random. If you don’t want a particular one with you, you’ll have to invest some time.
- In order for certain residents in Animal Crossing to move away, you simply have to ignore the one you want. As soon as you do nothing more with them, they will feel unwanted after a while.
- In return, you are no longer allowed to talk to the resident or carry out tasks for them. However, you do not need to get on their nerves, as this will not speed up the process
- After a while, a thought cloud will appear above the character’s head. Now speak to it
- The resident will now ask you whether they should move away or not. Agree to the move. The character then leaves your island
- Tip: To speed up this process, advance the time on your Nintendo Switch console by one month and one day. This is possible via the console settings under the Console and Date and Time tab.
Get rid of residents in Animal Crossing: Amiibo Method
It’s even easier to get rid of residents in Animal Crossing: New Horizons by using amiibo figures or cards.
- It doesn’t matter which amiibo figure or card you use. What is more important is that your island has already reached the limit of ten inhabitants and you have unlocked the campsite
- Then use the amiibo to invite a new resident. To do this, use the Nook portal in the Service Center. Then scan the card or figure so that the character appears at the campsite
- Get the item that the character wants and give it to him. Repeat this twice more on the following days. After the third time, the amiibo character will want to move in.
- You can then choose which resident should give up their property for the new addition. The new resident then moves away immediately and you are rid of the character.
