Some time ago, Hotmail was replaced by Outlook. As a result, Microsoft has linked its services. We explain how the service works
Hotmail and Outlook.com – is there a difference?
Hotmail is the e-mail service from Microsoft. It has since been renamed Outlook.com.
- With Hotmail or Outlook you can create as many e-mail addresses as you like. These can be registered under your name or anonymously
- You can currently choose between three different e-mail addresses. These end either with @outlook.com, @outlook.de or @hotmail.com.
- The Outlook service is completely free of charge. You will only see advertising in the first line of your mailbox.
What can the mail service do?
Under Outlook, Microsoft combines many of its Office services.
- With Outlook you not only get an e-mail address, but also first-class web access. Here you can conveniently receive, manage and send your emails. The design is modern and clear.
- In addition to mail access, you also have access to Microsoft Word, Excel, OneNote and PowerPoint in an online version. You therefore receive the writing software free of charge in a fairly minimalist form.
- Hotmail has also linked the calendar and the cloud storage OneDrive. You have direct access here with your Hotmail account
- Skype can now also be used in the browser. The link in Outlook logs you directly into your account and you can start chatting or making video calls.
