In Lies of P you will encounter the opponent “Puppet King” in the story. To defeat him, you will need some skill
Lies of P: First phase of the Puppet King
Once you have reached the end of the Estella Opera House, you will meet the Puppet King. You defeat him in two phases. The first is a little easier, but with a few hints, the fight can be easier.
- The puppet king will first stomp in your direction and spin once around its own axis before slamming its fist on the ground and dealing damage. You can block this attack with a blocker and attack with a counterattack instead.
- You can use the combination of blocker and counterattack regularly in the first phase when the puppet king starts to turn. This happens relatively often.
- Avoid hasty attacks in this phase. The puppet king quickly switches to a counterattack. Dodging is not too effective either, as the puppet king does not build up stance damage.
- In between, the puppet king performs a swipe attack with its arm. Run towards the puppet king to avoid his swipes.
- When the Puppet King’s life bar is down by a third, the Puppet King briefly goes into a rage. A good moment to give it a charged attack from behind
- If the puppet king starts to create a light blue vortex while spinning, move towards him. Only there is a safe environment and you can give him a blow at the same time.
The second phase of the puppet king
The second phase is quite a challenge and it may take a few attempts to finally overpower the Puppet King in Lies of P. You can recognize the second phase by the fact that the Puppet King turns into Romeo.
- Romeo jumps straight at you with his scythe. Dodge in time and answer his attack with two or three counters
- Always dodge to the front left when he attacks. This way, you will end up behind him and can hit him a few times without danger.
- Romeo is agile and knows how to use the space to his advantage. It is therefore best to lure him towards the stairs. There he is forced to fight in a confined space, which is to your advantage. You should continue to dodge and counterattack here
- Romeo’s most dangerous attack is a seemingly never-ending combo of attacks. Here you need trained fingers to apply perfect blocking. Otherwise, the fight will soon end to your disadvantage.
- However, you can prevent the combo by interrupting Romeo as soon as he starts to grind his weapon.
