Anno: Order of the main titles
The “Anno” series is one of the best-known and most popular economic simulation series. It is known for its sophisticated economic systems, detailed graphics and the ability to create your own island worlds. These are the main games in the series:
- Anno 1602 Creation of a New World (1998): The first game in the series combines economic simulation with real-time strategy elements. As the player, you have to build a settlement on a newly discovered island, boost the economy, trade with other settlers and defend yourself against pirates.
- Anno 1503: Dawn of a New World (2002): The second installment introduces new features, including different cultures and a more sophisticated military system. Players can expand their power through diplomacy, trade and occasional wars.
- Anno 1701 (2006): The third installment not only brought improved graphics, but also a better economic and trading system. An additional special feature was the introduction of natural disasters, which brought with them new strategic challenges.
- Anno 1404 (2009): With this edition of Anno, there were once again improved graphics. In addition, a complex economic system was implemented. Among other things, there are various ways to trade spices in Anno 1404. The game is set in the 15th century Orient and expands the series by introducing environmental factors.
- Anno 2070 (2011): This year, the series took a leap into the future and addressed environmental issues and sustainability. The game requires players to reconcile ecology and economy.
- Anno 2205 (2015): This installment takes the scenario into space and allows you to build colonies on the moon in addition to cities on Earth. Anno 2205 offers even greater freedom in the design of cities. In addition, session gameplay has been introduced
- Anno 1800 (2019): The latest installment to date returns to the historical roots of the series and is set in the 19th century, the age of industrialization. Anno 1800 combines popular techniques from previous games with modern features, such as a story campaign, a sandbox mode and multiplayer.

In addition to the main games, the Anno series also includes several spin-offs and expansions:
- Anno 1503: Treasures, Monsters and Pirates (2004): This expansion for “Anno 1503” adds new scenarios, island types, buildings and natural disasters to the game. You can also hunt monsters, fight pirates and search for hidden treasures.

- Anno: Build an Empire (2015): This mobile game brings the Anno experience to smartphones and tablets, with players able to build their medieval empires from scratch.
