Gunpowder is a resource in Minecraft that you can use in many different ways. You can obtain it in various ways
Minecraft: Farming and finding gunpowder
To be able to use gunpowder in Minecraft, you first have to find it. There are several ways to do this:
- Wait for the next night or look for a cave so that creepers spawn. The characteristic monsters drop up to two units of gunpowder when you defeat them. Just make sure they don’t explode
- There are other enemies that drop gunpowder. You can get up to six units from witches and a maximum of two units from ghasts.
- Tip: If you equip your sword with the Plunder enchantment, you increase the amount of gunpowder dropped. Creepers and Ghasts can drop up to five units and Witches up to 15 units
- Look out for treasure chests in forest estates, desert temples, dungeons and shipwrecks. They may also contain gunpowder.
- Traveling merchants often carry gunpowder with them. You receive one unit for one emerald.
Minecraft: Use gunpowder
If you are the proud owner of gunpowder, you can process it further.
- Black powder is an important resource for TNT blocks. To do this, place five units of gunpowder as an X in the crafting field and fill up the remaining four with sand or red sand.
- Fireballs are also crafted with gunpowder. Place the gunpowder in the middle of the crafting field and place tan dust in the field above it. Place a unit of charcoal or coal in the bottom space
- If you want to make throwing potions, you will need black powder. To do this, combine the desired potion with a unit of black powder in a brewing stand.
- You can also produce a variety of fireworks. For the simple firework rocket, you need a sheet of paper in the middle of the crafting field and one to three units of gunpowder in the bottom row.
