Biomes in Minecraft can be found using a specific command. This will give you the exact coordinates of the area you are looking for
Find biomes in Minecraft: Use locate command
When searching for certain biomes in Minecraft, such as the desert, it is of course more atmospheric if you find it while exploring. If you don’t have time for this or have something planned in the biome you are looking for, you can use a command.
- Important: To use the command, you must activate cheats in your Minecraft world. This is possible in World Creation via the Allow Cheats option
- Within the game, press the [T] key. It opens the chat, which is also used as a command console.
- Enter the command /locate there. You will now see a selection of other options, including biome. Select this using the arrow keys or enter /locate biome directly.
- You will then receive a list of all biomes that you can search for in Minecraft. Simply scroll through the list until you have found the desired biome. Alternatively, enter the title of the biome in English, for example swamp, meadow or mushroom_fields.
- If you are looking for a desert in Minecraft, the command would look like this: /locate biome desert. Press [ENTER] to start the search. For biomes with more than one word, enter an underscore [_] instead of spaces.
- If the biome you are looking for is within the search radius of 12,801 x 12,801 blocks, the coordinates will be displayed. You can now move there yourself or click on the coordinates to teleport there automatically.
