Finding out the serial number of your laptop – this is how it works
The easiest way to find out the serial number of your laptop is to take a look at the casing. You will usually find a sticker on the back of your machine that has the laptop’s serial number on it.
- The serial number of the laptop is also usually written on the packaging and on the warranty card of the computer. Unfortunately, the abbreviations for the serial number vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.
- The abbreviation SN, SSN, S/N, Serial No or Serial Number is often used for serial number. This is the serial number of the laptop. As a rule, the serial number consists of numbers and letters.
- Alternatively, right-click on the Windows Start icon. After selecting the “Run” option, enter “cmd” in the command field. Then, in the Windows command prompt, use the command “wmic bios get serialnumber” to retrieve the serial number of your laptop.
