You can use your iPhone as a scale. A website will help you. From a purely technical point of view, however, an iPhone is not designed for this purpose.
Using your iPhone as a scale: Instructions
Your iPhone itself does not have a function that lets you use it as a scale. There is also no app for it. However, there is a website that will help you with this.
- Your iPhone has a 3D touch function. This is there to measure and recognise the pressure strength of a fingerprint.
- Use your iPhone to open the website touchscale.co. Place your device on a flat surface, like a table.
- Place something on the screen. The application weighs the object. Caution: You may only place light things on your iPhone that cannot damage your device. The object should also have as large a contact area as possible.
Value is only given approximately
The scale will not give you an exact value.
- The scale only gives you an approximate value. Since the newer iPhone models only transmit electrical currents when in contact with a finger or object, the values remain inaccurate.
- Also make sure that the objects you are weighing are dry, have no sharp corners and have as large a surface area as possible.
- You should only weigh sugar or flour in tightly closed tins, as the particles can get into the housing of your appliance. The item should also not be too heavy, otherwise your appliance may break or suffer other damage.
