With the Sony PS5, it is possible to share your games with friends. This gives a fellow player the opportunity to play the game even though they do not own it.
Share games with another PS5
If you have a game that your friend doesn’t own but still wants to play, the sharing feature is optimal.
- First you need to share your PSN login details with your friend.
- After he has logged out with his data, he now logs in with your data using the “Add user” function.
- During the login process, the option “Console sharing and offline play” must be activated.
- Now all your games are available in the games library and can be downloaded. These games can also be played with your friend’s account.
Share games on a PS5 console
If several accounts use one Playstation 5 console, it is also possible to share a game with all accounts.
- First open the settings with the account on which the game you want to share is located.
- Go to “Users and Accounts”, then “Other” and then “Console Sharing and Offline Game”.
- There, click Activate. Now all accounts on this PS5 can access, download and play this game.
- This way, you only have to buy a game once within your family or with your friends and still use it with multiple accounts.
The limits of game sharing
There are also limitations to sharing your games.
- Console sharing and offline play can only be enabled on one console at a time.
- So if you share the account with a friend on another PS5, you cannot use the feature on your console to share a game with multiple accounts, and vice versa.
