You may be able to have reviews on Google about businesses, restaurants and other services deleted.
Get other users’ reviews on Google deleted
If you have a business that you are also registered with on Google, inappropriate or false reviews may also be written about you. These can quickly damage a business’s reputation. Basically, you can report inappropriate posts in any form to Google. Deleting a negative review is a little more involved:
- Retrieve your business listing via Google Maps or Google Search.
- Then select the inappropriate testimonial or review and click the flag to report it to Google first.
- You can then request a deletion directly from Google using a form. Please note, however, that the process can take a long time.
- Google will not become involved in any dispute between you and the customer. Deletion will only take place if the review violates Google’s policies.
- Sometimes it can also be worthwhile to seek expert help. Various law firms and companies offer a service in this regard.
How to remove your own reviews
If you’ve written a review on Google about a place, book or app, you can delete it:
- You can delete reviews that you have written about a place on Google Maps. To do this, go to Google Maps or use the app on your smartphone.
- Then click on the menu at the top left and select “My posts”.
- Now click on the “Reviews” tab.
- Using the three dots behind each of your posts, you can delete the desired reviews individually.
