The iOS 17 update, due in September 2023, will not run on all Apple mobile devices. Only some iPhones will be compatible with iOS 17.
These devices will receive the update to iOS 17
Which devices exactly will be compatible with the operating system is not certain until iOS 17 is released.
- The new iOS 17 should be able to be installed on all devices after 2017.
- This means all iPhone 15 models will be able to receive the update, with a market launch planned for late 2023.
- The iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro as well as 14 Pro Max models, which have been available since 2022, will also run iOS 17, as will the iPhone SE 3.
- You can pretty much install iOS 17 on the iPhones from 2021 – i.e. iPhone 13, 13 Mini, 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max.
- One year earlier, in 2020, iPhone 12, 12 Mini, 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max were launched and are ready for iOS 17.The same goes for iPhone SE 2.
- In addition, iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, iPhone XR, iPhone XS and XS Max are among the models that are targeted for iOS 17.
- The iPhone X, iPhone 8 and 8 Plus models are from 2017 and therefore fall out of the list of compatible devices.
- Those who don’t want to wait for the release of iOS 17 can download iOS 17 Public Beta now.
