How to deactivate your Twitter account

If you are still unsure whether you want to delete your Twitter account completely, you can also deactivate it first. You have 30 days to reverse the deactivation. If you do not log in to Twitter during this period, your profile will be permanently deleted. There is no way you can deactivate your account and keep it inactive for longer than 30 days. Here’s how to go about deactivating.

  • Log in to Twitter.
  • Click More in the menu on the left and then Settings and Privacy.
  • Go to Your Account and then Deactivate Your Account.
  • Click on Deactivate again and enter your password to confirm.
  • Click Deactivate again and you will receive a message that your account is now deactivated.
