If you want to charge the Joy Con controllers on the Nintendo Switch, you can do so in several different ways. We’ll show you how to do it.
Nintendo Switch: Charging the Joy Con Controller
There are several ways to charge the Joy Con controllers on the Nintendo Switch.
- The easiest way is to mount the Joy Con controllers on the Nintendo Switch and plug the Switch into the power socket. This will charge the Nintendo Switch and the controllers at the same time.
- Without connecting to the power outlet, the Joy Con controllers will charge on the Switch. However, this is only the case when the controllers have only little battery left. The controllers are then only charged to a maximum of half their capacity.
- Alternatively, you can play with a Joy Con charging cradle. Connect the cradle to the Switch’s power supply and the controllers will charge. The charging cradle is necessary if you are using a Nintendo Switch Lite system.
- Additional info: If the controllers are completely empty, it usually takes around 3 hours and 10 minutes until the battery is full again.
