In “The Sims 4”, your Sims will get older if you make certain settings or organise a birthday. We will show you how this works in detail in this practical tip.
Age Sims through settings – this is how it works
In the game options you can set in great detail how you age your Sims. Click on the three dots at the top right while looking at a city. Then select “Game Options” and then “Gameplay”.
- The item “Automatic ageing” allows you to choose between “yes”, “no” and “active household only”. Use the item below to determine whether this should also affect the unplayed Sims that you never play yourself.
- Using the item “Sim Lifespan”, you can then control how quickly or slowly your Sims should age. You can choose between “short”, “normal” or “long”.
Let Sim grow older – with a birthday cake
If you want to make any Sim grow older, you can bake a birthday cake.
- Select “Cooking” on the fridge and then “Chocolate Cake” or “White Cake”.
- Click on the finished cake and select “Add birthday candles”.
- Then switch to the Sim you want to age and select “Blow out candles”. The Sims will transform after blowing them out. You can do this as many times as you like until your Sim reaches the appropriate age level.
