Virus protection for the iPad – necessary or not?

Everyone has virus protection for their computer, but what about mobile devices like the iPad? There are numerous anti-virus apps and firewalls for Android phones, but for the iPad there is hardly anything in the app store.

Virus protection for mobile Apple devices: Effective or useless?

In the App Store, you won’t find any apps for your mobile Apple devices that can really protect you seriously from viruses. And for good reason:

• As long as nothing has been changed in the iPad’s system by a jail break, the iOS mobile operating system is self-contained and secure. Attacks on the system by a virus are therefore impossible.
• Unlike a Windows PC, for example, the iOS core is not accessible to apps. Applications run on the iPad in an isolated room, so to speak. Some apps do have permission to connect to other apps, but any interaction between apps must be allowed by Apple.
• Unlike Android apps, Apple users can only download apps from the App Store. These have been checked by Apple beforehand. This rules out the possibility of apps tapping into data without permission.
